“Blatherskite” and 2 more copycats
Ugh. 2 more “artists” have popped out of the woodwork and are now selling breast paintings on eBay. Including me (the original) the total is now up to 4. I’m glad that mine are the nicest ones, but what a total lack of imagination these people have! I’m going to do a little test and list something completely different shortly. I suspect this upcoming series will have copycats as well.
Tonight I’m listing “Blatherskite,” which means “unintelligible or foolish talk.”

Dear Kira,
I’m one of those lurkers you mentioned. I’ve admired you and Koopa from afar since I first discovered you on Ebay…oh…three years ago maybe? Four? I dunno–a while now.
I’m a regular at your blog now, and I’ve been cheering you on. You were even the subject of conversation at my mom’s house after Koopa fell ill. I was feeling for you as an artist…as an animal lover. Healing, happy vibes are being sent your way by lots of lurkers like me, I’m certain. Your new (solo) work is really lovely, Kira (I LOVE Blatherskite!), and you’re going to land on your feet, I’m sure.
About the copycats: I’m an Ebay artist, too…and I wouldn’t be flattered either: I’d be steamed. Heck, I’m steamed for you! It’s not flattery–it’s stealing, plain and simple. File a VeRO complaint! Go get ‘em, sister!

Melynda - I knew there had to be lurkers out there! I lurk on other sites myself, but I have to tell you it’s so great to hear from new people. Makes it seem more worth the effort of actually blogging. I hope you’ll continue to visit and comment on occasion. I don’t have a lot of support in the “real world” so I truly value my cyberspace friends for guidance and decision-making.
As for the copycats, only one of them is totally replicating my style and I have let her know that I don’t appreciate it. She handled my note very unprofessionally and defensively. I don’t think I’ll do much more about the situation, but I am raising the bar on my upcoming projects. I’m not a one trick pony!
